| The R&D assignments in the copper product sector are varied and growing. Thus, the team is concentrating, for example, on improving the quality of strips and the new development of special products − important projects to secure NA’s leading position in the copper market. In addition, the product range is enhanced in the oxygen-free and low alloyed wire (TOP ROD) and shape sectors. Products are developed in collaboration with customers with defined conductivity, strength and workability. |

Here we work closely together with the production sectors in Hamburg and Stolberg, the Product Technology and Quality Department (PTQ) and our analytical laboratories. In so doing, we learn the material’s basic parameters and likewise gain knowledge on casting properties. Both represent important basic information for the production side.
PTQ provides information on further product quality. The main physical properties are determined there and samples examined metallographically or with the scanning electron microscope. |
