The further development of production processes increases productivity in our production plans and NA’s earnings. The best possible utilisation of resources, high process stability and environmental friendliness are our targets.
We use modern technologies for online measurement, process analysis and monitoring to improve process control. Specially adapted sensors are often necessary due to the rough conditions in our furnaces. With the aid of the aforementioned technologies , we optimise, for instance, metal production in the flash smelter furnace and converter as regards throughput and processing time.

Process control and optimisation in the copper refining tankhouse has long been a tradition at NA. At the beginning of the last century Wohlwill introduced the technology of electrolytic cleaning of copper - the first long-term operating copper electrolysis facility worldwide. Continuing this tradition, we have been using the online measuring device CollaMat® for many years to monitor the electrolyte additives and are working on further systems.

But not only modern process control brings better results. Optimisation work in our processes’ metallurgy or chemistry sectors also saves costs, reduces the process complexity of the production chain or increases product quality and environmental friendliness.
Examples are the reduction of the residual copper content in our iron silicate stone, faster processing routes for precious metal bearing intermediates or the cleaning and reuse of precipitation in our plants.
