| Copper recycling |
 |
Sustainable development requires closed material cycles. Copper is one of the few materials which suffers no loss of quality when recycled regardless of how often this process is repeated. The copper contained in a product can be recovered and reused by means of highly developed and environmentally friendly process technology. Thus, at our recycling plant in Lünen, we produce a high-grade copper from a variety of copper containing secondary raw materials with the same quality as copper produced from ore concentrates.
Copper recycling, as performed by the NA Group on a large industrial scale, contributes significantly to the sustainable development of our company. In all of it’s applications and products, copper represents a strategic metal reserve. Recycling of copper unlocks this reserve and thus saves natural resources, like energy and environmental resources. The high recyclability of copper saves energy and there are closed processing routes also for the copper containing residues, by-products and co-elements. Accordingly, recycling helps to avoid the disposal of materials in landfills.
Copper recycling in Western Europe is based on well-established recycling routes and companies with environmentally friendly process technologies. Metal trading and recycling companies are collectings scraps and separate them into classified, sorted raw materials, ready for our processes. We also offer recycling solutions to the waste management industry, and to companies in the processing industry for their metallic scrap and residues. For the producers of consumer goods, who have product responsibility, we are contact partners for solutions for end-of-life-materials.
